Memories of Michael Jackson  #

I remember getting "Eat It" and "Beat It" mixed up in my head. I was confused as to which was the "real" video.

I remember someone asked me if I liked Michael Jackson in a joking way, the way you'd ask a little boy if he liked dolls, if you were an asshole.

I'm pretty sure "Dangerous" was the first CD I ever owned. I think I got it for Christmas and I'm fairly sure I asked for it. I remember thinking it was the best sounding recording ever, although much of that would have been my first impressions of the CD format and modern production. I listened to it constantly.

I was never impressed with anything post "Dangerous" and much of "Dangerous" rubs me the wrong way now.

I remember being slightly freaked out by the HIStory promos with the giant Michael Jackson statue.

Since then, I don't remember anything but controversy.

Many years later, I bought "Thriller" and "Off The Wall". I've been eyeing off his earlier stuff for years but never got around to getting anything...
