The main one that I'll have to remember is that after November 9, if a tram is stopped you will need to stop until it goes again. You will no longer be allowed to pass a tram if it is stopped even if there are no passengers getting on or off. This gives clarity to what I've always thought was a bit of a dangerous grey area although I still expect to be beeped to within an inch of my life for not passing a stationary tram.
The other new rules are mostly moron prevention: stronger mobile phone rules, don't have your dog in your lap when you drive, driver will be fined if anyone in their car isn't wearing a seatbelt.
These days I tend to turn the mobile off if I'm in the car. It takes away any possible distraction.
New laws are nice, but when I've never seen the most obvious ones (don't speed, don't drive like an idiot, don't tailgate) actually enforced by a policeman, why would they enforce these others?
Most of the laws seem to be designed to be enforced after the fact. That is... after the crash, or after you've run over someone.
