Most of the articles include some example hardware and prices. The prices usually start around $250.

The high cost seems to be the LCD screens, the built in memory and recording functionality. At least... I hope it is.
They seem to be coming at this the wrong way.
People are happy to pay $250 for an MP3 player that comes with radio.
They need to start selling MP3 players that come with digital radio.
The price won't look so darn ridiculous from that angle.
