iTunes has bought LaLa.

LaLa has existed as a music service for only a year (they started as a CD swapping service).

Speculation is that iTunes bought LaLa to make them go away. LaLa has good deals with major record companies (which iTunes does not) and sold MP3s for less than iTunes. They also sold access to streams of songs for 10 cents.

mySpace has taken imeem down while it "migrates".

It is worth noting the recent deal Google has done for their Google Music search uses imeem, LaLa and iLike. No coincidence I'm sure.
