Compilation Fade Out 2006  #

Before Year 10, my music tastes were controlled entirely by the songs I liked on compilation borrowed from the library and songs taped from the radio. In Year 10 I discovered alternative and heavy metal via Nirvana, Guns'n'Roses and Metallica. Around the same time I started to appreciate the true joy of the "album".

Before that it was Top 40 all the way. This compilation represents my trying to remember songs I remember loving around this time, finding copies of those songs and putting together a list of songs I still enjoy. A lot of songs were tracked down and not put on this CD because it turned out they really sucked...

Those in the know can see my tastes in this period were sourced from the "100% Hits" and "Hit Machine" series of compilations. Songs in movie soundtracks feature, as do songs I discovered via computer (games). A CD my parents received from Chandlers when they bought their stereo is to blame for three of these songs. And lastly, a tape of the radio (I'm assuming it was Gold FM or Triple M) in the mid 90s left running for an hour or so fills in the gaps...
