The Ottawa Citizen 13th Jan 1990 (Greg Barr):
Review of Soundgarden, Voivod and FNM @ "Portal Hall, Tuesday"
Tuesday would be the 9th Jan 1990. Assumed to be a typo.
"San Francisco's Faith No More opened the show -- delayed by 45 minutes for a late soundcheck -- and vocalist Mike Patton spent the set mouthing words we couldn't hear.

But the band was able to set itself apart by forging a link between metal and rap in We Care A Lot and Epic. The relentless drive of this music provides a much better platform for rap lyrics than the timid drum machines used by the black rappers. And dipping way back into the roots of metal, the band finished its set with Black Sabbath's 1970 gem War Pigs, an admirable effort despite bassist Billy Gould's errors."

The Ottawa Citizen 5th Jan 1990 (Greg Barr):
"Soundgarden is on the bill at Porter Hall Thursday with Voivod and Faith No More."

The Ottawa Citizen 8th Dec 1989 (Greg Barr):
"Metal thrashers Voivod, Quebec's answer to Metallica, headlines an all-ages show Jan. 11 at Carleton U's Porter Hall, with Sound Garden and Faith No More."
